Lenggoksono Beach is a hidden gem on East Java's beautiful coastline in Malang Regency, Dampit. It's gaining popularity as a magical tropical getaway for tourists. The beach offers peace and quiet away from crowded tourist spots, with brownie sand, clear blue waters, and lush green surroundings.
The name "Lenggoksono Beach" is derived from the local language lenggok means bending which derived from the winding road lined with Sono or typical Burmese Rosewood trees. These Sono trees are also known as Angsana. They produce high-quality wood that is often referred to as narra or rosewood due to its dense, reddish, and fairly heavy characteristics.
Lenggoksono Beach had become a popular tourist destination by 2014 and experienced its peak of popularity from 2018 to 2020. However, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the beach has been facing a downturn in its fortunes.

Muklis the Mnagement of this place said that him along his Bowele Team aiming to build the facility that are currently abandoned because of the lockdown. They expected that the facility will fully work on the end of the 2023 when this beach is officially opened for local and international tourist.
“We expected this renovation would be fully functioning at the end of the 2023. The facilities include beach chair, food court, lavatories, musholla, and parking lot.” add Muklis, the manager of Lenggoksono Beach.
What's unique is that the management personel don't charge an entrance or parking fee. Instead, they only charge a boat fee of Rp 70,000 per person for visitors who wish to explore the three small islands near Lenggoksono; Banyu Anjlok, Kletakkan, and Bolu-Bolu.
“We want to focus on the services we can provide on this beach, this also aims to empower the local community," he added.
The road access to Lenggoksono Beach is about a 3-hour drive from Bululawang, Malang. It's easily accessible by cars and minibusses. If you prefer using public transport, you can reach the village border, specifically Tirtoyudo Village, which is the closest point to the beach accessible by public transportation.
